Updated 14 October 2026. This week’s PC release calendar has three very different pitches: a dungeon you can explore with friends, a horror-soaked soulslike, and a Castlevania comeback. The useful question is which one deserves your time after the trailer has finished doing its job.
Already out: Deep Dish Dungeon and Valor Mortis
Deep Dish Dungeon launched on 13 October according to Xbox, with PC Game Pass support. Its hook is exploration, crafting, cooking and co-op through a hand-built dungeon. That combination could make every detour worth the trouble; it could also turn into a group arguing over who used the last ingredient. Both sound like content. For long-term play, I want to see whether discovery keeps paying off once the first few rooms stop being new.
Valor Mortis, also listed for 13 October on PC Game Pass, is a first-person action soulslike from the creators of Ghostrunner. You play a dead Napoleonic soldier returned to a plague-struck Europe, using weapons and supernatural abilities against monsters. Its combat pitch is strong. My question is whether first-person readability and enemy design can support the difficulty, or whether the camera will be the final boss wearing a fancy hat.
Still ahead this week: Castlevania and a few wild cards
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is listed for 15 October with Xbox Play Anywhere, which covers the Xbox PC ecosystem. Xbox describes a Paris under siege and a Belmont family story. I am interested in whether it builds an identity beyond the name: strong movement, memorable encounters and a reason to revisit after the credits matter more than nostalgia on a box.
For co-op chaos, Chained Beasts is due on 15 October for PC Game Pass: one to four gladiators are literally chained together. On 16 October, PC Game Pass lists Beyond These Stars, a city builder on a travelling space whale. Those are wonderfully strange hooks. The long-term question is whether the chain mechanic supports teamwork after the joke lands, and whether the whale-city supply chains stay interesting beyond the first pretty screenshot.
Pick the next TGN gameplay session
These are release previews based on official listings, not reviews. I have not played these new titles yet. If you want to see how one actually plays, choose your contender and I will put gameplay on it if the community wants more. My early vote is Valor Mortis for the combat test; Chained Beasts has the highest chance of turning a coordinated team into a public argument in under five minutes. Tell me I am wrong, then follow TGN on your preferred channel so you catch the gameplay and the verdict.
