Backlog report, updated 14 October 2026. Riot’s Japan Season Finals report lays out a five-map grand final: REJECT took Split, QT DIG∞ answered on Lotus, REJECT took Haven, and QT DIG∞ won Breeze and Ascent to finish 3–2. The final map was 13–11. That result secured Japan’s Challenger place in the VCT Pacific Stage 2 play-ins. One more round the other way and the entire season would have been framed differently. Esports analysis can be that cruel.
The TGN read
What interests me is not just the comeback. QT DIG∞ survived two separate scoreline swings and still had enough decision-making left on Ascent. That is a more useful sign for a wider Pacific field than one unstoppable attack half. REJECT were close enough that the loss should feed the next plan, not erase their season. For Japan, the international test is whether that resilience survives opponents who will not give you five maps to settle in.
Was Ascent the proof of QT DIG∞’s composure, or did REJECT let the door stay open? Follow TGN and join the conversation on your preferred channel.
