Backlog report, updated 14 October 2026. Riot’s 2026 APAC plan gave direct Pacific play-in places to the top teams from Southeast Asia, Korea and Japan. The fourth place came through a separate last-chance route involving South Asia, Oceania’s Premier path, and additional Southeast Asian seeds. The official Pacific Stage 2 team list names Xipto Esports alongside Sharper, ONSIDE and QT DIG∞ as the four Challenger entrants.
The TGN read
This slot matters because it stops the three largest direct routes from becoming the whole Pacific story. Xipto had to arrive through the harder door. The play-ins then put all four Challenger teams in the same practical test against established league teams. I care more about whether the fourth place can create real competitive tension than whether the bracket graphic looks inclusive. A pathway has value only when the destination can be contested.
