Two free PC games to claim before 15 October: Out of Sight and TerraScape

Epic’s Out of Sight and TerraScape are free to keep on PC until 15 October, 17:00 SAST. Here is what each offers and which one TGN should play first.

Updated 14 October 2026. Your PC backlog probably does not need help. Your wallet, on the other hand, might appreciate this one: Out of Sight and TerraScape are free to keep on the Epic Games Store until 15 October at 17:00 SAST (15:00 UTC). Claiming the base games during the offer adds them to your library; the optional add-ons are separate purchases.

Two very different picks

Out of Sight is a single-player horror puzzle adventure with a proper twist: Sophie, a blind girl, sees through her teddy bear’s eyes while trying to escape a mansion. That second-person setup is the interesting part. The game has to make where you put Teddy matter, not just rely on a jump scare and hope nobody notices the puzzle design.

TerraScape goes the other way. You build on floating islands, placing buildings where their surroundings create useful combinations and points. It is a city-building puzzle rather than a resource-management marathon, with solo, co-op and versus options. My long-term pick is TerraScape: the placement system sounds like the sort of thing that starts relaxed and ends with you arguing with yourself over one tile at 2 a.m. A perfectly normal evening, obviously.

The smart move before the timer runs out

Claim both now, decide what to play later. These are time-limited free-to-keep offers, not free weekends. Open each store page, sign in to your Epic account, and check that your own regional checkout still says Free before confirming. Epic lists the deadline as 15:00 UTC on 15 October, which is 17:00 in South Africa. After that, the offer can change.

This is a preview based on the official store information, not a hands-on verdict. Out of Sight has the stronger immediate hook; TerraScape looks like the better game to return to over several sessions. If you want TGN to put either one through actual gameplay, tell me which deserves the first session. I’ll play the community pick and share highlights so we can judge the game, not just the trailer.

Follow the next gameplay session and vote for your pick: find TGN on your preferred channel.
